Marilena Müller, B.Sc.
I studied Biological Sciences at Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main. During my bachelor thesis in cooperation with the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History I reconstructed mastication processes of different extinct and recent hominids and analyzed them in terms of their functional anatomy and evolution. In 2016 I started the master programme biodiversity, ecology and evolution at the Freie Universität of Berlin. During my master thesis I will work on the functional anatomy of the giraffe’s neck. In particular, the specific nature of the cervicothoracic region and the first thoracic vertebra in comparison to closely related species such as the okapi.
