Maja Mielke, B.Sc.
I studied Biophysics at Humboldt-University in Berlin from 2011 to 2014. After my degree I decided to specialize on organismic biology and evolution and enrolled in the respective program at Humboldt University. My main interest lies in vertebrate functional morphology, with bone function and inner bone microstructure as my current research focus. I analyze the microstructure of femora in Sciuromorpha (squirrel-like rodents) in relation to body size, lifestyle and phylogeny. With Finite Element Modeling I investigate the functional performance of sciuromorph femora under different loading conditions.
